What We Believe

  • Sin separates us from God, who desires a relationship with us. We cannot bridge the separation that sin creates through our own efforts, good deeds, or church affiliation. The death of Jesus was a deliberate, divine plan to pay the debt of sin owed to God. This act of love is known as grace—God’s undeserved gift to us. We accept this gift by placing our trust in Jesus and declaring our faith through baptism.

  • There is only one true God. He is the Creator of all life and the Ruler of the universe. He has always been (He is eternal) and co-exists equally as God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. We learn about God through His creation, His Word, His Son and His Holy Spirit. God loves us more than we can imagine.

  • Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He came to reveal God to us through His miraculous deeds, sinless life, and transformative teachings. He embodied God’s love by sacrificing Himself on the cross, bearing the weight of humanity’s sins, and paying the penalty for them. His resurrection affirms His divine nature and his desire for a relationship with every person.

  • The Holy Spirit is fully divine with God the Father and God the Son. He dwells in each member of God’s family as a Helper and Guide. When we accept the gift of grace by placing our trust in Jesus and declaring our faith through baptism, the Holy Spirit comes to live in our physical bodies. Though we will never be sinless in this life the Holy Spirit does help us sin less as we conform more to the image of Jesus Christ.  A life lived by the Spirit is marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

  • In following Jesus' example and His command, we practice baptism as an act of obedience. Baptism is our participation in Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. It is a public declaration of our faith and commitment to live for Him. We practice believer’s baptism by immersion.

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is God-breathed and serves as the ultimate authority for living according to His will. It reveals who God is, His love for us, and His plans for our lives. The Bible is the standard for guiding us in understanding God's truth and making choices that align with His purposes.

  • The Church is the spiritual family of God, encompassing all who trust in Jesus. It is not defined by buildings or specific groups but by our relationship with Christ. Jesus is the Head of the Church, which is His body. The Church worships God, serves the community, encourages one another and maintains unity. As we love one another and stay united in purpose, we reflect Jesus to the world and fulfill our mission to make and grow followers of Jesus.

  • We are created with eternal souls. Those who follow Jesus will spend eternity in Heaven, enjoying God's presence. Conversely, those who reject Jesus will face eternal separation from God in Hell. Both Heaven and Hell are real, and God’s offer of forgiveness through Jesus is a gift, with Hell being the consequence of rejecting this grace.

  • God created mankind in His image, with males and females having equal value and access to Him through faith in Jesus. Marriage, as established by God, is a covenant between one man and one woman. Sexual intimacy is a sacred gift within this marriage covenant. Singleness is also a holy and valid calling. Those not married are called to celibacy.

  • The roles of Elder and teaching pastor are designated for qualified men, while all other roles in leadership and service are open to both men and women. During worship every member of the Church is encouraged to actively participate, reflecting the diverse gifts and contributions of the body of Christ.
